Upper Floor . . . At the end of a relaxing but active day on the Oregon Coast, ascend the hardwood staircase at the north end of the main level to the “main crew quarters” which features two bedrooms and a bathroom with large shower. The master bedroom, or “Captain's Quarters”, overlooks the main floor living area. What a great place to retire to after a long day exploring all that Newport and the central Oregon Coast has to offer! Open the sliding glass door a crack and let the sound of the surf lull you to sleep.
The master bedroom features a half-walled deck (for safety and privacy) that looks out over the north edge of Yaquina Bay Park. In one sweep you can take in Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, the windswept woods, the jetty, the beach, and the vast Pacific Ocean beyond.
Lower Floor . . . Want to get away from the rest of the group for a while? Have a little work to do? Peace and quiet await you downstairs at Yaquina House. After a long day of beach exploration, relax in the artificial sun provided by the far-infrared sauna. The Neighborhood . . .
As you walk south from Yaquina House, you immediately enter Yaquina Bay Park which is home to the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, one of the oldest historic buildings in Newport. Go on a guided tour of the lighthouse, bar-b-que while the kids play on the playground, walk the trails through the park or to the beach ...
... or continue on under the Yaquina Bay Bridge to the Historic Bay Front. Enjoy shopping a myriad of galleries and specialty shops, visit the everpresent sea lions, take the family to Ripley’ Believe it or Not, the Wax Museum, or the Undersea Gardens, disembark on boat tour for whale watching, or enjoy a bayfront meal at one of many fine restaurants.
Walk to the north past the large ocean front hotels (and feel grateful that you are staying at Yaquina House!) to the Historic Nye Beach with great shops, restaurants, and easy beach access.

The View & the Beach . . . A scant few hundred feet from the sand beach of Yaquina Bay, you will enjoy a sweeping south and southwestern view. The sunsets are incredible! Enjoy the beach from the house, or walk a few steps to the paved beach access path in Yaquina Bay Park. And remember... the warm summers are great, autumn and whale migration season can be exciting, but the winter storm season may be the best time to visit of all!
This view of the windswept woods in Yaquina Bay Park and the beach was taken from the front entry deck of the main level.
This photo of a beautiful late autumn sunset framed by windswept trees
was taken just a few steps away from the front door of Yaquina House in
